About my Story

'A Killing Conscience' is a thriller short film about a man named Michael, a hitman hired by a company to “tie up loose ends” and cover their shady business dealings. After years of service and a job gone wrong, Michael changes heart and develops a moral conscience contradictory to his current lifestyle. He decides, unbeknownst to the company, to never kill again. Wanting to pursue a relationship and start a family, thus creating life instead of destroying it, he creates an online dating profile. When his boss gets wind of Michael’s intentions, he will do whatever he can to squash Michael’s relationship pursuits and newly found conscience.

Why this Story?

A Killing Conscience is special because it reflects upon human nature in many ways. The notion of blind trust, selfishness, and power without thinking about moral implications and consequences. I wanted to craft an exciting story around a character who refused to do what he was “built” to do and question everything about himself. As a fan of thrillers, I want the audience to feel the suspense and adrenaline of these scenes and reflect upon the character’s decisions and choices.

What do my contributions go toward?

Where and what will your contribution go toward? We have an amazing cast and crew that will need to be paid! We also will be providing all meals for them as they dedicate their time and efforts to make this the best short film possible! Props and special effects makeup like fake blood and a gun will also need to be purchased. Checkout the Wish list to see what still needs to be paid for!

How has COVID affected my production?

You may be wondering why now? In the middle of a pandemic? Since this is my senior thesis film, I'm giving specific dates I have to shoot in order to complete the project on time. These dates are October 5th - October 13th. These dates are immovable, so I need your help to raise these funds before shooting ends! Our cast and crew will be taking precausions through ever step of the filmmaking process. This includes: masks at ALL times, unless when actors are filming, craft services will ONLY serve pre-bagged and wrapped snacks, equiptment will be cleaned during EVERY filming break, and temperature checks will be done before EVERY shooting day. We want this to be a clean and safe enviornment for our cast and crew!
