About The Project

After going back to school to get my film degree, I realized that there were whispers my whole life directing me to this place. I am so grateful to all of my friends and family who have been such cheerleaders in my efforts. I didn't realize that all of those Groner auctions and Scholl's Women Club teas would have been a training ground to making me a really good producer. I am confident that after producing all of those events, I have gained knowledge about film making and can couple those organizational skills with my artistic style to produce a movie that highlights the Scholls Valley and all of its beauty.

I wrote a screenplay last summer for my screenwriting class and now I am working on pre-production to make the film for my final film project in Narrative Film Production class. It is a film called A New Promise. It is semi-autobiographical about that crossroad moment in a young woman's life when she has to decide if she is going to choose the option she promised or make a new promise to herself allowing great opportunities and travel. Looking back, for me it was the moment that changed the direction and course that brought me to this point. Had I not chosen to follow the path to leave school and become a nanny, I know that I would not have this wonderful life that I have today.

I am working on this now because I know that as soon as Spring term begins, I can hit the ground running with this film. I have the script, and I would have the funding to proceed with the project. I have lined up locations here in the valley to highlight the beauty of what the Scholls area has to offer. I have hired trained actors. My actors are mostly students and they deserve to be paid. The bulk of this campaign is to provide a professional environment with compensation.

About This Team

I have surrounded myself with some very talented, supportive people.

Michael W. Dodge will be my cinematographer. I am super impressed by Michael's dedication and committmnet to investigating the best practices to give us the look and tone that we strive for this project to show off our Scholls Valley that we know and love.

Nicole Cook is going to be my first Assistant Director. I met Nicole in film school and not only was impressed by her work ethic and dedication to a project but her astute eye for how to portray on film the story that we are trying to tell. I am looking forward to working with her.

Composer Steve Ellingson is going to create some original tracks to score the film. He has introduced me to a beautifully soulful singer/songwriter that I am go grateful to announce has agreed to write an original song to accompany the film. Her name is Karyn Ann and she is available on iTunes. I highly recommend you download her music. It has further inspired the look and feel for the film.

I am pleased to announce that my lead actress is Abby Thompson who has appeared in a couple of features. She is very involved in the film community here in Portland and I look forward to working with her.
