The Story

We are a hardworking and dedicated group of young filmmakers all coming from different backgrounds. Each one of us brings a different talent and a unique perspective to the creation of Amygdala. In the last four years, we have worked tirelessly to bring our own projects to life. This includes everything from documentaries to horror, but we have never been more ready or excited to create Amygdala.
AMYGDALA follows Lucas, a 25-year-old man who has recently lost his job. Time is of the essence when he awakens in a strange room with no memory of the past night. Time is ticking down and Lucas must find a way to escape both the room and also his mind. As the audience, we step into the shoes of Lucas and are forced to embark on this journey with him, but at the same time, we are challenged to come to terms with our own fears.
AMYGDALA exposes the harsh reality that not everything is what it seems. Our terrors and worries are only as great as the mind that creates them.

This film is our senior capstone film for Quinnipiac University and it is one of the most ambitious films for our film program. A lot of resources for the film will be used to create our terrifying sets because our story is centered around the environment we create for Lucas to explore in. This is the film that is going to show everything we have learned thus far in school and we hope it shows once AMYGDALA is finally playing before you.
Major influences for the script are coming from the Saw franchise, Fight Club, and The Shining. We want to bring the audience on an experience versus them just watching. We want every person to be able to come back to the film and have a different view each time.
The director, the director of photography and the production designer are working tirelessly to create an amazing film. Every location that Lucas goes into will be different from the last he came from. We hope the visuals will be able to show where Lucas is at in his story. Not only are we working to make every frame look visually appealing, but we are also working to make everything in the frame mean something. Everything will be placed in the scene for a specific reason.
This film is the most important thing to us up to this point in our lives. We are overjoyed to be able to share our journey with everyone and we hope it pays off in the end when we bring AMYGDALA to you!
