Behind the Yellow House
This true story is about ritualistic abuse and it will make you shudder! Our hope is that it is a call to action. Each episode will conclude with resources for those in similar situations to reach out. Follow the story of Maggie. Many will relate to her, she is the the protector, she is the victim.
Mission StatementAs filmmakers, it was important to have a strong female crew which we have gathered! Bringing on those with a diverse background of both male and female, this project is destined to unleash creative energy. The team is committed to creating a project that will induce compassion, hope and change.
About The Project
Maggie survived but not without the scars of her past. Recounting her experiences brings Maggie back to a time that was dark, but after years of healing she feels empowered. This allows her strength to share her story and to help others.
The story and remarkable subject matter will create an atmosphere of curiosity. Maggie's incredible journey and her unstoppable force to survive and thrive, will embrace you as you become part of her recovery. This WILL create dialogue. Our team has confidence people will begin to talk about the subject matter most of us do not realize exists in the world, much less in our own backyards...Real life WITCHES!
In Behind the Yellow House we follow the factual story of Maggie who was born and raised in an all-female dark and sinister coven in the mountains of New Mexico.
Maggie witnessed and experienced torture and endured mental and physical abuse. She experienced human trafficking and was subjected to an unfathomable reality.
Her destiny, though predetermined, is riddled with her fight against evil. Her protective nature as a sibling shows her compassion and loyalty for others. She is kind, loving and sweet but a fighter when the need arises.
YOU will be pulled in to her story.
This series will follow Maggie through her formative years as we witness her WILL to survive and the battle that ensues as young teen and her resistances to surrender to this ritualistic “family.”
We will also witness her extraordinary HUMAN SPIRIT.
This is an introduction to the TV series which is based on factual events from the eyes of Maggie. This first of 6 episodes focuses on the initial introduction to the witches coven,The Red Robes, in which Maggie receives grooming from the ALL FEMALE cult.
Through her young eyes, we see Maggie’s struggle with good and evil, while maintaining her strength of youth and undeniable love of life. The ones she trusts, the ones she loves, are the very ones that rip her world apart.
The story is not a documentary or expose'. This project is not intended to bring attention to any person or persons. As filmmakers, we intend to show MAGGIE and her journey to LIVE!
MAGGIE'S SPIRIT will shine throughtout-even in the darkest of days.
You will fall in love with the spirit and strong will of this young girl. Her vivacious love of the simplest of things will make us all look at things differently. Her lack of self pity will also surprise the audience. Maggie is a fighter and survivor. She may lose the battle some days, but will win the war of surviving.
MAGGIE'S FRIENDS are critically important to her maintaining a sense of normalcy. Maggie enjoys playing outside with friends as any child does, although some of her circumstances find her in situations that only create more serious and familiar problems. Perhaps even some she cannot cover up.
As filmmakers, our team has the opportunity to celebrate the incredible power of the human mind and spirit when faced with inhumane circumstances. Although seeming imperfections infiltrate the main character's life daily, the depth of survival is uplifting and one we focus on during this film.
The project's focus is intended to help save others faced with hopelessness and desperation. By providing resources and support at the end of each episodes our hope is that it will empower others by hearing the story and life of Maggie and her TRUE DESTINY.
The film will provide resources at the end of each episode. The resources will coincide with the subject matter shown during the episode. These resources will provide outlets for those enduring similar circumstances and feeling alone with no way out.
Abuse is real and everywhere. It is our duty as humans to provide protection for each other.
If our project can save ONE LIFE, we will feel accomplished as a production team. We hope to save and change many lives. We will bring awareness with this project.
HEALTH - With the current health crisis of COVID-19, our project costs have increased. With the support we receive from contributors, we will be able to bring in recommended practices and procedures to ensure the safety of our cast and crew. We will hire a fulltime Health and Safety Professional to be on set daily.
ACTORS - Although our goal is to cast in the state of New Mexico, we are reaching out to other states to find the actor who will portray the main character, Maggie, with a spunky spirit and sparkle in her eyes. With additional funds from crowdfunding, we will be able to afford those named talents that will bring more attention to the project.
POST - Another area that is critically important to the production is post production costs. This is a large percentage of the budget and by raising more funds, outsourcing will be of less concern financially, allowing us to focus on marketing the project.
MUSIC - As filmmakers we are acutely aware of the impact music will have on this project. It is our intention to hire a local composer from New Mexico to introduce music that would help guide, excite and thrill the audience during the story of Maggie. Music can make or break a scene!
NEW MEXICO - The creator, Maggie, is dedicated to adding talent, crew and hiring local companies from New Mexico for the project. Her loyalty to her birth state of New Mexico, although past memories surface throughout each day, is a reflection of the incredible spirit of this remarkable human.
THE YELLOW HOUSE
Visiting this home on a regular basis was not unusual for Maggie. This place hidden in the Sandia Mountains of New Mexico is what made her who she was...but not who she became...
A YOUNG MAGGIE AND THE INCREDIBLE OLD SOUL OF A YOUNG CHILD
Reading was a way out for Maggie as a child. She read everything she could to distract her from the world that surrounded her. Her favorite poem to this day.....IF by Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating,
And yet don’t look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream – and not make dreams your master;
If you can think – and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build ’em up with worn-out tools:
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: ‘Hold on!’
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
‘ Or walk with Kings – nor lose the common touch,
if neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that’s in it,
And – which is more – you’ll be a Man, my son!
