Chronicles of Bleep Year Old Woman is a comedic series following a not-as-young-as-she-used-to-be woman pursuing Big Dreams in the Big Apple. Her delightfully delusional perspective challenges societal norms and worldview concepts regarding age and female identity.

Mission Statement

This is a story by women, about women, and for a target audience of women. We are committed to telling stories about diverse women of a certain age who are living outside societal norms but we believe the universal themes will inspire everyone.

The Story

THE STORY

The Bleep Year Old is 100% proud of her age. In fact, she's shouting it from the rooftops at every opportunity but each time she does, she gets censored. The concept suggests that, despite societal censors, a woman can be child-less, marriage-less, entering an industry built for 20-year-olds AND brazen enough to be HAPPY about it.

In Season One, she'll go to “beginner” ballet class, interface with motherhood (or non-motherhood rather) and face her face (as in “to botox or not to botox”) after an audition gone age-critical then, in a “Sliding Doors-esque” episode, we’ll discover her disproportionate love for in-home laundry machines (and her grief over not having one at her age).

She shares her misadventures through her live “fakebook” vlog, clumsily hashtagging her way through a new world of technology. In a youth-obsessed society and career, this woman dares to assume neither age nor marital status are determining factors in what a woman has to offer the world.

BUT, HOW OLD IS SHE?

Ehhhh, wouldn't that kind of ruin the joke?

THE BLEEP YEAR OLD

She looked delusion in the face and thought, "Yeah, we're gonna get along just fine."

Once upon a time, there was a woman. All was going well for her then … she turned 30. Every time she turned around, she was being treated like she was over the hill, had missed the boat, was a broken baby maker. Only problem? She felt YOUNG. Amidst this inner clash and the world’s insistence that she is too late, she pursues her dreams. It’s a Goldilocks for Aging. The world says, “You’re too old!” or “You’re too young!” and the Bleep Year Old says, “Eh, I'm just right.”

WHERE THIS CAME FROM

The series’ creator, Tamra, showed up to a beginner ballet class at Broadway Dance Center in New York City (first first since she was 7 years old) and realized there were no beginners there. She did her best, got yelled out, felt mortified and walked out feeing ALIVE. The concept explores how difficult it can be to start something new at an unconventional age. For women in the arts, age can be an especially challenging topic. As we age, we experience societal pressure to look young at all costs. Meanwhile, Richard Gere is becoming a silver fox. George Clooney is becoming debonair and their on-screen wives are still 25.

The Heart of This Mission

Spotlight on Aging and Expectations

Being a woman comes with a host of expectations passed down from generation to generation as well as from the media. They tell us how to dress, how to act, what our lives should look like. The Bleep Year Old challenges those norms and encourages women of all ages to embrace who they uniquely are and live that out courageously.

Bleep Year Old is a story by women, about women, and for a target audience of women, but we believe the universal themes can inspire everyone. Women make up more than 51% of the population but account for only 27% of all Creators, Directors, Writers, Producers, Executive Producers, Editors, and Directors of Photography working on broadcast network, cable, and streaming programs.

We Are Creating Seats at the Table!

Rather than sit around waiting for an invite to the table, we are creating a table and pulling up several chairs!

We believe that women on television should represent the complexities of not just some, but all of us. To ensure that happens, we are bringing an all female above-the-line team to this table. We are also hard at work to put as many women of diverse ages and backgrounds on both sides of the camera. And, of course, our male allies are always welcome!

Commitment to Innovation!

We are using a digital platform, ironically, to comment on the role of said platforms. It’s a comedic “getting to know you” between social media and GenX, a generation born before the internet. We’ve created a faux facebook which exponentially increases the number of “characters” the bleep Year Old interacts with. It is both digitally and creatively satisfying for us as both creators and innovators.

LEND US YOUR ... suburban home?

Check out the wish list for other ways you can help! We're running this joint on a micro budget so we're looking for ways to cut costs without sacrificing quality.

Stretch Goals
$25,000 is the bare minimum needed to make Episodes 2 & 3 of Season One at a production quality everyone involved can be proud of. It is the number needed to do the story justice.

We are partnering our crowdfunding efforts with the Private Investor and Sponsorship possibilities we have. The more we raise here, the easier it will be to solidify our other partnerships to produce the entire 1st season.

From you, we need a minimum of $20,000!

If we raise $30,000, we'll  have contingency funds in place should anything go wrong, as well as cover (most) of our post-production costs.

Raising $40,280 would extend production to make Episode 4.

At $60,000, we'll be able to complete Season 1.

4 EPISODES IS THE GOAL!

6 EPISODES IS THE DREAM!

*If you'd like more information regarding how this budget breaks down, please reach out! We are more than happy to share the top sheet. Thank you!

THANK YOU!

This is very much an "ours" kind of situation. It's such an honor to have you believe in us this way.

Thank you so much.
