The Story

You probably don’t know this, but in the Dominican Republic there are schools that teach exorcism. I know it sounds crazy but I only know this because I dated a guy who, according to him, went to one of these schools. It shocked me too because he was the horniest, most rebellious guy I’ve ever dated. So I always thought if he could become an exorcist, even you and I could, right? That’s what inspired me to create “Exorcism 101”.
This hour-long series follows Grace, an unfiltered, rebellious, and very slutty girl. She hates God, blaming him for the death of her parents, who died in a car accident when she was 8 years old. Since then, she has sent to a convent, where she was raised by Mother Superior, a very bossy, controlling nun, that everyone in this convent respects, except for Grace, of course.

This story and the show is a great opportunity to explore the culture of the Dominican Republic, a country with very strong beliefs in demons, mythological legends, and ghosts, but with a free spirit that could condemn the whole island in one day. The traditions of this country will enrich the episodes of this show, portraying customs that foreigners have never learned about it.
With this, we'll continue learning about Grace's experiences, trying to create a balance between her relationship with Mother Superior, her rebelliousness and her exorcism abilities. Even though there will be a big demon for each season, the demon of the week is the story engine of this show, giving an opportunity to explore not only demonic possessions (and some of them that actually are popular in the country), but also artifacts, haunted houses, and even demons on internet, each of these being metaphorically connected with the internal conflicts of the characters.

For the rapidly growing diverse realm of groups who support minorities like the #MeToo movement and the Latino Support Movement, this is the perfect time to bring this TV series to life. Now more than ever, there is a need and recognition for strong female characters, and similar stories that are unknown to a general broad audience.
Exorcism 101 is a show about freedom vs. control and responsibility. It’s recognizing your real enemies, and most importantly, it’s about being true to what you believe, even though this might mean becoming the most proficient rebel of the year.
Right now we're going through the Post-Production process of the teaser, that will help us to promote the TV Series proposal and find producers and investors that would be interested in funding and/or developing the project, but for finishing the teaser, we need funds that will allow us to have a proper and perfect final cut.

About This Team

As the development of this project was progressing, I always felt that, in order to properly tell this story, I had to have a crew that will respect the importance of having a woman as an exorcist, therefore I brought on board this incredible crew, who not only create similar stories but also are empowered enough by the theme and the topics to bring on board ideas that will push this project to the next level.
At the same time, and having the experience of being on set with an all-male crew, my goal was to be inclusive with my own gender and give them the opportunity to show that women can fill out any position in the entertainment industry, from Cinematography to Gripping. These women are an inspiration to continue moving forward into this project, with their dedication, devotion, and support.
