For the price of coffee and a pastry with friends, you can be in House Of Dreams! Well, sort of. A photo of you will be in the film. There is a pivotal scene - a dream sequence - wherein the main character enters a room in an old, abandoned house and the camera pans taking in the room with cut ins of close shots of photos in frames. One of those photos is you! This scene is about the main character exploring his memories subconsciously. You become part of the main character's memories.

And, of course, you get the "Thanks Plus" package as well - thanks on FB, Twitter, the website and in the end credits.

The fine print: The photo you provide (a high-resolution JPEG) must be a good portrait of you - head and shoulders or full length. House of Dreams is a short film that explores the inner workings of a man’s mind - a man who feels lost, whose inner self wants answers to questions that the outward self he projects to the world can't quite get a grip on. The film asks questions about consciousness, about existence, and what it means to be a human being in these times without presuming to provide answers for the viewer.

The film delves into the mind of a man, played by Jeff Hansen, whose waking world is colliding and overlapping with his dream world. Dream sequences mesh with reality as our main character tries to come to grips with the loss of the woman he loved, played by Janni Hansen, and questions his own place in the world. The film asks questions about life and love without presuming to provide answers. Strong visual and metaphorical elements take us on a journey of personal discovery intended to engage the viewer on many levels.

As we explore his thoughts and dreams we witness his struggle and come to recognize the increasingly thin line between his dream world and his reality.

Ultimately, the film is about a man's subconscious efforts to come to grips with the loss of the woman he loved and to grapple with the mystery of his own existence - the mystery that lies between his beginning and his inevitable end.

Sometimes a man's mind can become a House of Dreams...

About This Team

Dennis Colligan - Writer/Director/Producer/Editor

I formed FIVE FORWARD Productions specifically to make short auteur films. I've been making short pieces for years (documentary, commercial, experimental, charitable) but this is my first attempt at crowdfunding for a narrative project. It's a project I'm passionate about, that I'll make one way or another - but I want it to be the best film it can be, and that requires funding.

I've chosen Seed&Spark for this project for several reasons. I like the fact that it's just about filmmakers and filmmaking. I like the curated concept. I like the feedback and guidance. I think it's the perfect model for film crowdfunding, and regardless of how this campaign turns out, I will be back here at some point in the future and will recommend this platform to others.

The film will be shot on Cape Cod, and will include several locations.

I've found a great cast who are both commited to the project, and I have good crew options waiting in the wings that will be able to commit when we have a firm shooting schedule. We are all wearing several hats on this small production.
