Story
About The Project
Film has two purposes - to Entertain and to Educate. Creating escapism and flights of fancy while leaving us with questions that need answered. We want to partner with you in making an entertaining short film that also fosters conversation and raises questions.
Often when you watch the news or scroll through Social Media outlets, social isues are portrayed as black & white, left or right, Republican versus Democrat. It's very polarized and discussed with the same fervor and mentality as a College Football rivalry. Someone wins and someone loses but we'll see you again next year and have this fight again. That's not the way that we can move forward as a society. We want to re-humanize some of these hot-topic issues and remind everyone that at the heart of social justice issues are People and Lives. This first came to my attention during the aftermath of the Marriage Equality Movement. We saw both the best and worst of people in their reactions.
"Huevos Rancheros" is the story of Danny and Marcus, life-long friends who fell on opposite sides of the Equality debate. After an altercation, Marcus confronts Danny about his deep seeded homophobia. Unlike the way this conversation is depicted in media, Danny is trying to change and trying to progress but finds it difficult.
As filmmakers, we hope to present to you a short that creates and fosters conversation. While we centered it around the Marriage Equality debate, this same dialogue can occur about Gender Equality, Feminist Movement, Syrian Refugees, Race Relations, Religion, and Politics. We can be on opposing sides and still treat people with respect and acknowledge when one or both sides need to evolve to benefit society as a whole. Change is hard and necessary.
We have a great team in place that are passionate about this project. Now we just need the financial support to create a quality end product. There are location fees, equipment rental, insurance, incidentals, some crew positions, and most importantly quality food to keep our crew happy and healthy. Check out our Wishlist of necessities and Incentives for donors.Thank you for your support.

Michael Scott - actor, "Marcus"
“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.” – Steve Jobs
It is with great courage and conviction that Michael Scott became an actor, a performer, and an artist. As nothing ever does, this didn’t happen overnight.
Michael Scott, born in Texas to two U.S. Army soldiers in the late 1980’s, was raised in a way that truly paved the road towards his artistry today. Like many “army brats,” he learned early on the importance of agility, versatility, strength and adaptability. With each deployment that his family endured, he picked up and moved on with a greater appreciation of the diversity around him and stronger understanding that it truly isn’t the place that determines the ‘home;’ it is the people.
It was this culmination of family, a diverse environment, and rich culture that inspired him to further his education and remain in the great state of Louisiana; a place he calls home.
He attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he later earned his Bachelor of Arts in Theater. He began his career in theater, acting in a multitude of plays at the LSU Theater, where he is still active today as an alumnus.
Scott has played major supporting roles in several television series, including Parallels (2014), and Zoo (2003) and notable film roles in Student Bodies (2013), She Was Famous, (2015), and Dirt Road to Lafayette (2015). With a long history of theatrical work that includes a number of productions where he performed as an Aerial Silks Acrobat, it’s clear to see that he enjoys the physicality of being an actor.
He balances his career with his avid passion of maintaining a healthy lifestyle. He can often be found practicing silks, learning martial arts, or leading an outdoor fitness class for friends and colleagues. His diligence and self-awareness will continue to be the driving force as he furthers his career.
Adam Stephenson - writer, actor "Danny"
Adam refers to himself as an "accidental actor" who started out to become a teacher, receiving a B.S. in Secondary Education from LSU, but became an actor along the way. He is a Graduate from the Second City Conservatory in Chicago where he developed a base for his Acting Technique in Improv and Sketch Comedy. While in Chicago, he also studied Meisner at Black Box Acting Studio.
Adam has worked extensively in the film industry with 33 Credits in Features, Shorts, and Television along with dozens of Commercials, Industrials, and Voice Over gigs. Adam has also worked behind-the-scenes of the industry at a Talent Agency and freelancing as a Casting Associate and Screenwriter.
His desire to be a teacher came full circle after he began coaching Improv Ensembles and participating in Talent Forums for the Chicago Acting in Film Meetup.
In 2012, Adam and his wife Brittany returned to Louisiana with their two dogs, Penny and Zoe. Adam immediately jumped into the NOLA Film Market and began teaching Improv and Acting to Kids and Teens at Creating U in Covington, LA.If you are driving around New Orleans or flying in/out of Louis Armstrong Airport, Adam can be seen in the Billboard Campaign for the National WWII Museum's "Road to Berlin" Expansion.
When not doing something performance related he's eating a Twix and playing Video Games - primarily xBox but weirdly addicted to The Simpsons game on his iPad as well. -
