Is it better to know or not know? Would there be any comfort in knowing? Or is it better to be blissfully unaware of the end of the world? There's no stopping it and only a fraction can get off planet in time. Follow one scientist on her last days on Earth.
Inclusion StatementOur film is helmed by a majority female crew and creative team, led by first time filmmaker, Jennifer Pearson, and emerging producer, Rebecca Bartlett. Women have all the speaking roles, giving a unique perspective in each situation faced by our characters.
About The Project
Late one night, while working on an upcoming launch for NeXt Space Station, a premier off-planet resort, Jessica makes a dire discovery. A comet is headed straight for Earth and impact is inevitable. Impact will wipe out all life on the planet. The NeXt Space Station has now become the final hope for mankind. The only way to save humanity is by getting as many people off planet as possible before it hits.
In the days leading up to departure, Jessica struggles with the decision to stay or to go. By staying, she's not deserting her family and fellow humans to die not knowing what is to come. But to go means helping with the continuity of humanity. Mankind won't end with Impact.
About the project:
This is the first filmmaking venture for Jennifer Pearson. Woohoo! "Very excited to continue learning and creating!"
Together with her producer, Rebecca Bartlett, they are working to create their own future by creating their own projects. Enough waiting, more creating.
We've already filmed the first scene for this short, and are hoping to raise funds to complete filming, get it edited, and begin submitting to festivals.

About This Team
Jennifer Pearson began writing this script over a year ago. After some major rewrites she decided it was time to make this happen! Joining with her producing partner, Rebecca Bartlett, they began the process of finalizing the script and finding some majorly talented people to help film the first scene for the short. David Howard acting as DP, Brett Marley with Sound, Heidi Mack as Key Makeup Artist and Kelby Kennan as Assistant Director. Everyone generously donated their time and equipment to film the first scene. We are excited to continue with this crew to finish making Impact!
