The Big Picture
The feature film M30 OXY is an Appalachian crime drama from Kentucky filmmaker Wesley Mullins that exposes the desperate choices and harrowing consequencs a rural community faces in the midst of an opioid epidemic and global health crisis. Based on the multiple award-winning screenplay by Wesley Mullins and Leanne Johnson, this provacative and wickedly entertaining genre-bending drama about a dangerous crime ring disrupting the lives of its not so innocent locals will star Megan Massie, Jon Patrick O'Brien, Leanne Johnson, Lewis Wright, Gerry Rose, Ebie Adkins, Ashley Stinnett, Derek Kunzman, Dara Jade Tiller, J. Barrett Cooper, Jordan Mullins and introducing newcomers Olivia Conley and Blaze Marie Stahl.
The Story
In rural Appalachia, during the first summer of the covid pandemic, desperation connects the lives of a nurse, an unemployed married couple and a low-level drug dealer, as they all get pulled into a dangerous Oxycodone crime ring.
Why now?
These stories and issues are current and fresh. The relevancy to tell this kind of story is now: the remnants of a global pandemic are still lingering in the air, media and population. The real people whom these stories of desparation, fear and consequences are based on still know and feel the impact of what transpired in their ordeals.
Why us?
Our Teams capability to bring this story to life comes with nearly 4 decades of implementation experience with over a hundred short films and 30 features under our collective belts. More importantly, this is a story produced by people from the area, starring people from the area and targeted to people from the area. So often, stories of rural appalachia are told by people without roots in the mountains. M30 OXY corrects that.
COVID Policy
As we want to keep our entire team safe and productive for the entirety of our 3 week production, we'll be implementing a daily temperature reading test, providing hand sanitizer and masks for everyone on the crew. Asking that everyone has a COVID test (negative result 24-72 hrs) before showing up to set for day 1. Minimal interactions with the public outside of interacting with the crew; only when necessary. We believe that we'll be able to have a safe and healthy production.
