RESTORED: Stories of Encounter
RESTORED is a multi-film, multi-volume project in which we explore the profound beauty of ordinary people pursuing holiness in their everyday lives. Each episode focuses on someone who has encountered Christ and dedicated his or her life to giving others the chance to do the same.
Inclusion StatementThe debut volume contains six 20-minute short documentaries; two hours of dynamic ministry content relevant for all ages. Each film demonstrates one of the seven principles of Catholic Social Teaching. Watch a message from the Producers on the "Media" tab.
About The Project
$60,000 of this $80,000 project has already been raised! We are looking to complete the funding by raising the final $20,000 here.
These are fascinating contemporary stories of conversion, inspiration, and radical humility showing that Christ’s call to be a saint is achievable. In a time where people are struggling to see beauty, goodness, and truth in the world, Restored: Stories of Encounter will provide hope and renewal through witnesses of restorative encounters with the Lord. All of our subjects are inspiring examples for viewers anywhere in their faith - their simple love of neighbor is infectious.
Each story will tell who the person is, what their “encounter/life-changing event” was, how their ministry grew from that, and how it impacts the community/culture.
This project aims at engaging a wide audience. It will be a great tool for religious education, youth ministry, adult discussion groups, parish film nights, and parish missions. On the other hand, it will be engaging for non-practicing or non-Catholics, and it will be used as a tool for evangelization through both social media and secular traditional media.
By creating high quality, orthodox content, we will continue to serve the educational needs of Catholic parishes, schools, and families, while also reaching out to Catholics who may not frequent Mass, as well as people of goodwill who are interested in the themes we are presenting in the films.
ODB has deep connections within Catholic youth ministry in the United States and experience in promoting great film content into parishes and elsewhere. Saint Joseph Communications reaches out to a broad market of individuals, parishes, and retailers, as well as several large lists of daily devotional recipients. Together, ODB and Saint Joseph Communications will also promote the series through social media. We intend to distribute the series through both online/broadcast digital distribution and as a physical product.
We plan to reach out for televised distribution. As every episode is firmly rooted in its local community, stations like PBS and WGN would be perfect platforms for the series.
In addition to using the series to evangelize and catechize, it will serve to make the apostolates known and to generate support for them. We will allow these apostolates to use their episode in any way that supports their ministry.

ODB Films is proud to partner with Saint Joseph Communications (a division of 5 Stones) on this project!
Saint Joseph Communications started back in the early 1980s when we were recording and distributing talks by a (then) unknown convert and speaker named Dr. Scott Hahn. Since then, we have been finding and sharing thousands of talks, films, and books from some of the most compelling voices in the Church. We are proud to support the growing ranks of content creators faithful to the Catholic Church - each with a unique, creative way to facilitate an encounter with Jesus Christ.
5 Stones is a Catholic Apostolate dedicated to magnifying the message of Catholic organizations with the goal of evangelizing the world. Their large, devoutly Catholic team provides state of the art fulfillment, customer service, marketing, design, and technology services.
