Poly
"Poly" is the story of Jake, Cricket, and AJ, a polyamorous triad moving to the suburbs, much to the hesitation of the rest of the neighborhood. This comedy explores love, friendship, and what it's like to be "othered" where you call home. Let's create something never been done before.

Think of the comedic possibilities here, patrons of art!
- Polyamorous Triad vs. Conservative Moms
- Boyfriend vs. Girlfriend vs. Girlfriend
- Boyfriend vs. Girlfriends
- Boyfriend & Girlfriend vs. Girlfriend
See what I'm saying? We can explore themes and topics that aren't often thought about in mainstream media.
Questions such as...
- "Am I queer enough?"
- "We want kids. Who should get pregnant first?"
- "Why are these three conforming to being a somewhat nuclear family?"
WHY ME?
My name is Savannah Rodgers and I'm a filmmaker! LGBTQ+ satire is my passion. I'm one of the creators of Poly. I've been creating short films for the last few years and I've even gone to some great festivals, like Slamdance! I have a solid track record of finishing projects, putting them out on the circuit, and getting results with them. By putting your faith in me for this series, you're supporting someone who you know will get it done for you all to see.
WHY THIS?
Blending comedy and the LGBTQ+ genre is a passion of ours. By telling the story of Poly, we are trying to give representation and validation to those who aren't monagamous in the traditional sense or at all. We're giving voices to sexually fluid people. We're creating intersectional content through the lens of suburban shenanigans. What's not to love?
WHY NOW?
This campaign is part of the Seed&Spark New Voices crowdfunding rally. Being part of an event like this is special - it goes beyond raising money for a web series pilot. If we are winners of this rally, we have the chance to do something special. We could either get a straight to series by the folks at Fullscreen, or we could win a television development deal with Band of Outsiders and premiere at SeriesFest. By funding this, you are specifically showing Seed&Spark, SeriesFest, and Fullscreen that we have credibility as filmmakers, we have a following that would watch this show, and that choosing us is a good idea. Your money is going so much farther than paying for cast and crew. You are contributing to show you support queer film and intersectional content as a whole.
It's never been more important to be seen as LGBTQ+ people. We want to put content out there that does right by people. By funding our pilot, we're aiming to create something that will outlive us all - a series about what it's like to be othered in your world. Being othered takes a variety of forms: this is just one story. By creating content like this, we want to make sure comedy is being inclusive of all people.
Please contribute. If you don't have the funds, please share it. The more money we raise, the better our product will be. Check out our wish list, rewards, and see if anything tickles your fancy. Thanks for supporting Team Poly and we can't wait to hear from you!
