Story
About The Project
Ringfinger aims to take you on a wild journey set in Asheville, North Carolina on June 26th, 2015, the day of the SCOTUS ruling in favor of marriage equality. On this particular evening, Audrey Duvall seems to be having one helluva night.
- First, her fiancé, Carlos, drops the bombshell that they'll be moving shortly after the honeymoon due to him accepting a promotion that will move them from North Carolina to Ohio.

"Excuse Me?!"
- Secondly, her gay country singer brother, Luke, invites his straight roommate to the country & western themed party that Audrey has opted to throw for her instead of having her own party.

"Well, this is awkward..."
- Thirdly, Luke's roommate just so happens to be Audrey's ex-boyfriend.

"Howdy Stranger..."
Why This Film?
“Some of us think holding on makes us strong, but sometimes it is letting go.” Hermann Hesse
We are living in a very interesting time with regards to the ideas of gender and sexuality being questioned. This movie will explore what femininity and masculinity really means and whether or not our concepts of those are outdated. Should we continue to buy into the notion that everything is so binary and how does that restrict us from personal growth?
Drawing inspiration from such classics as Urban Cowboy, Muriel's Wedding, and Dazed & Confused; Ringfinger is a truly funny film but also very poignant in its message that we should let go of our expectations that we hold for one another and accept everyone for who they truly are.

"Sounds Fantastic!"
So please, contribute and DEFINITELY spread the word in order for us to make a terrific film that explores love in all it's fabulous glory!

Current Team
About This Team

Writer/Director - Derek Tilton
Derek Tilton has spent over twelve years producing, writing, and directing short films, while studying and consuming everything on the art of cinema. He realized at a young age, having very few friends growing up, the power of cinema and after discovering that becoming a Ghostbuster wasn't an actual career choice, he turned to the next best thing.
Now, he's ready to take the world by storm with his first feature film as he'd like to have one feature under his belt before he finally hits thirty and falls apart. (Note: He's 27 now) (Another Note: He apologizes to anyone 30 and over who feel offended by that previous statement)

Carlos Carter - Bryant Zambrano
Bryant Zambrano is a filmmaker has produced short films, music videos, and web series with his company, Hard Luck Media. During high school, he became heavily involved with the theater and broadcasting programs, and would go on to receive an award at the North Carolina Theater Conference Festival of Arts.
Bryant is bringing his talents both in front of the camera, as well as behind it, serving as producer on this project, too.Throughout the past few months, Bryant & Derek produced a series of short films known as the Affordable Eight.

Audrey Duvall - Morgan Petersen
Morgan has always wanted to be an actor. When she was younger she’d get so enthralled by the stories she watched that afterwards she’d be immersed in the world that was created for days sometimes. Originally from South Carolina, she moved to Atlanta to pursue a career in film after graduating college. After having been in many short films, she’s ready to make her leap into feature films. This film’s story speaks to her in particular because of its subject that deals with what love is and how there’s a constant internal battle between the head and the heart.

Luke Duvall - Keenan Edge
Keenan Edge never knew what to do with himself. He always acted, because that way he could focus on being someone else for a change. He spent his childhood changing his mind about what he wanted to be, but never gave a thought to what he was doing. He realized that the only thing that he was doing that was making him happy was working on or behind a stage, so that's what he did. He spent his senior year of high school at UNCSA and wanted to act instead of go to college. He's doing both now in Charlotte.
For him, the role of Luke is an exploration of himself, and an experiment in changing perspectives. He is no stranger to uncommon love, and relishes the chance to show how normal deviance can be.
Sam Meadows - Jake WhaleyJake Whaley is an accomplished musician and actor. He spent his high school years performing in theatrical productions, even garnishing a Best Supporting Actor nomination. His most recent role in "Love has No Heartbeat" has Jake as the leader of a survivalist group during a zombie apocalypse.
Lydia Myers - Megan WallerComing from a theater heavy background, Megan initially began her career on the technical side of the art. However, she’s always had a passion for being in front of an audience. As a child, she would watch all kinds of musicals. Oklahoma was her personal favorite for the longest time. It wasn’t until her parody performance of 99 Problems by Jay-Z, where she was a calculus teacher schooling her students during a rap battle. For her this story represents how we all have a tendency to feverishly pursue our dreams, passions and goals despite what the consequences may be in the end.
