Ron The Reindeer - Another Christmas Story 

Introduction

It’s a cold Christmas night. A young stripper named Ron is about to give his first performance to Julia, a lonely divorced woman. Suddenly the door of the house flies open - it’s her ex-husband and their two kids. Caught in the act Ron’s first instinct is to escape the upcoming chaos, but the parents offer him an unexpected deal: double the payment if he can make the kids believe that he is the real Santa. He hesitantly accepts to face the challenge in his stripper Santa costume.

Who Am I

My name is Sebastian Feichtinger and, with my team, I desire to create something comedic, but also heartfelt. I have always loved comedies and the beautiful feeling they give to so many people. Comedies can take any problem and transform it into something so easily accessible that anyone can understand. To me, that is the magic that movies emanate. Fighting parents, two kids that lost their faith in Christmas, and a stripper who is their only hope. In this short, we are translating a deep and relatable family conflict into a funny and emotional experience. 

About This Project

The Story 

“Ron The Reindeer - Another Christmas Story” is a short film about a young college student who recently decided to take on the job of a stripper. This decision eventually leads him to one evening he never could have expected. While performing for a lonely, divorced woman, her ex-husband suddenly appears in the house together with their two kids. He gets caught up in the middle of a family drama and ends up being there for the two children that haven’t had a normal Christmas in years. 

This story is very meaningful to me. On one side, it is a funny and visually exciting story about the most unusual Christmas anyone could ever imagine. On the other hand, it is also a heartwarming story about someone who saves Christmas not just for two kids, but also for himself.

Characters 

Ron (22) 

Ron is studying dance in an art college and hopes to open up his own studio one day. When he was a child, he struggled with his own parents, who fought almost every day and destroyed many beautiful childhood memories that Ron could have had. Now he is in college. Drowning financially, he can’t find a job anywhere related to his studies. Therefore, he decides to become a stripper, hoping to incorporate his dancing into his job. His first day of work is on Christmas Eve, which he never cared for anyway. Why would he? It was never special before. Why would it be special now? 

Desmond (11)

Desmond is an intelligent kid who speaks his mind. If he does not like someone or something, he won’t be afraid to let the world know. He sees school as a means to stay away from home, rather than to learn. He does not believe in anything unless it is scientifically proven. Birthdays? A waste of time. Dragons? Made up. Santa? A joke. 

Thomas (7)

Thomas is Desmond’s younger brother. Different from his brother, he has a very positive outlook on the world. Call Desmond a realist and Thomas a dreamer. He loves to draw and create. In even the most uncomfortable situations, Thomas can see right past the awkward. Though he is so different from his sarcastic brother, he looks up to Desmond, and Desmond looks out for him. 

Julia (Mother) (43)

Julia is a forty-three-year-old mother who works as a publisher of her own magazine. Her life was always perfectly organized and planned until one thing in that plan went wrong - her marriage. After fifteen years, her now-ex-husband cheated on her. Everything became a mess. But finally, Julia is ready to try new things. Go to Vegas for the summer? Party with her friends on Mondays? Order a Stripper on Christmas? 

All of the above? 

Jonathan (Father) (45)

Jonathan is a forty-five-year-old math teacher who left his wife after a long marriage. While his wife became more invested in her work as a magazine publisher, Jonathan became intimate with one of his colleagues - the English teacher. One thing after another followed. Now that Jonathan has escaped the trap of marriage, a new chapter in his life can begin. The only problem: how do you start a new chapter while looking out for two kids at least three times a week? 

The Execution

Where we are right now 

After working on the script for a couple of months we are finally in the preparation stage. We decided on our key crew members and are about to go through the online casting process. At the same time, we already found several location options that could suit our story. The budget will have a vital impact on this decision. Another step we are taking is the production design. We have created a list of props and decorations we will need to create our world. 

Next Step

After the online casting, we will find a space to go through the second round. We will meet with the actors that fit the best and make a final cast decision. Also, the location will be chosen and reserved.

The Pandemic

It is 2021 and we are living in crazy times. The Covid-19 virus has changed many conditions in all of our lives. Our priority is always safety. We want to keep our crew safe and healthy throughout our shoot. That includes Covid testing, masks, hand sanitizer, and more. A Covid advisor will be on set at all times to ensure that the safety rules are being followed. Our producer has created a Covid plan that includes all the necessary steps to keep everybody safe. Social distancing is one of the most important strategies. The number of people working in one space will be strictly limited. Scenes will be shot in an order that allows minimal crew at any time. Even though the pandemic has brought up so many difficulties and obstacles for everyone we will take every possible measure to film this beautiful film.
