"To escape his troubled past, a scout leader convinces his group to go on a mission that separates them from society for five years. When a troop member's sister discovers their whereabouts, she attempts to bring them home, but the scout leader doesn't know if he's ready to face his reality again."

I'm sure that everyone reading this has done that exact thing before. Sometimes things get too hard, and it's easier to run away and create your perfect world far away from those problems, holding onto the hope that you can stay in that bubble forever. But without challenges, there is no growth. To not face that hardship is to deny change. It's something I've experienced before and learned from, and this story is my interpretation of that lesson (albeit wildly exaggerated; there were no lost boy scouts in mine).

Through talking to my friends over the past few months, this quarantine has shown me that I'm not alone in this. That because people have to stay home, they're forced to face problems that they used to be able to escape by running to work or school or even the grocery store. It's daunting, but a lot of these people have called it one of the most revealing and transformative experiences of their lives. I think this story will be great for anyone who might be scared to face the hardships of reality, and that's why it needs to be told. 

The rest of the troop is there to show that wherever you turn, there will be someone to help you through those hardships. I turn, and there's my own Luisa or Jack. People who will help me out of the woods and be by my side while I try to understand the next steps to take. That's what being a boy scout is. A troop. A team. A family. They're a family, the scouts in real life and those inhabiting the world I've created, and they are there for Roger and hopefully will show people that despite their hardships, the people close to you will help you get through them; to trust and love the troop in your life.

THE TROOP (Crew)

The troop that has been gathered for this film is full of strong creators. From the producers (Jessica Hernandez and Enrico Cecchi of J&E Productions) to our Production Designer (Jaala Jones) to our First AD (Jonathan Rome). These fantastic individuals have allowed for pre-production to be a smooth process and are actively working to ensure a smooth production as well! THE LOOK

We're planning to shoot in November, just beating the snow and allowing us to utilize the warm fall colors into our color scheme. The color scheme will convey many natural browns, yellows, and other warm colors with accents of cooler colors through costuming, characters, etc. Below are some examples from other films of the visual style I am aiming for with Scout's Honour:

THE BUDGET

We're aiming for a $10k budget. Much of this will be going towards all the departments having everything they need as well as providing our fabulous troop with meals, crafty, lodging, etc. but we also want to stress that SAFETY IS OUR NUMBER ONE PRIORITY. It is vitally important that we are running a safe set just as much as a fun one! So we will be allocating as much budget as necessary to ensuring COVID will not be an issue for this set or our troop. Masks will be worn, equipment and locations will be sanitized, and tests will be done. All of this will be overseen by our COVID officer.

These funds will allow us to make a great film while also ensuring that the set and crew are completely and utterly safe and cared for. That's most important.
