Story
Mission Statement
We've created several strong female characters to carry the story forward. Our podcast allowed us to diversify our talent pool that we wouldn't have had access to otherwise. It's the first cast we've assembled outside of our local contacts including retired Navy & veteran actor Marshall Teague.About The Project
Seymour the Unfortunate Vampire was originally written as a feature length film a few years ago and focuses more on the origin story. After many creative sessions we felt a web series would be a great way to introduce Seymour to the world and give people a taste of what could be expected in a full length feature as well as more installments of the series.
Say hello to Seymour played by our founding partner Joe Kane.
Here's a brief synopsis of the web series: In a world occupied by numerous supernatural creatures, good-natured Seymour, is mistakenly turned into a vampire and struggles to adapt and stay one step ahead of the vampire hunters who want him dead.
Seymour and his friends, Corrina and Wally, are desperate to avoid the vampire hunters, while securing a constant source of blood that does not involve Seymour attacking humans. However, as Seymour gets hungrier he must learn to control his urges. Strange circumstances abound as he also endeavors to keep the particulars of his new existence from his family. Seymour has to work his way out of many uncomfortable situations in his new altered life while adapting to his new normal.
Seymour finds some comfort after his encounter with the Agency of Supernatural Rehabilitation Services. A world wise werewolf, named Chester, is sent to guide him through this transition. Chester is charmingly unrefined and is keen to keep an eye on the unfortunate Seymour as he knows how unaccepting humans can be to those who are different.
A new threat arises when Seymour’s condition is inadvertently revealed to a fairy (displaying no characteristics normally associated with being a fairy). Lark Cedarcreek, is tall and usually bears no visible wings. Far from being a gentle, nymph like creature, he bears a greater resemblance to Boris Karlof. It is revealed that while the blood of a fairy can allow a vampire to walk in the light of day, fairies are dangerous to vampires because vampire blood is like a drug to them.
The story culminates with Seymour being forced to choose between his own life and that of his friends due to the deception of Lark. The series is threaded with action, sarcasm and situational humor. Seymour is lovable, and naive. His friends are loyal. It is an adventure through the surprises experienced by a newly turned, fairly innocent vampire to find acceptance of himself, friends, family and survival with his new life.

Agent Odin played by Sal Conca
Agent Odin is an SRS Agent (Supernatural Rehabilitation Services) assigned to Seymour's case file. A former vampire hunter, he had a change of heart when his father was turned years prior. Now he has nothing but the best of intentions and only wants to help people like Seymour adjust to their new life. Working from the behind the scenes Agent Odin and the SRS are a powerful in bringing peace and harmony to an otherwise divided world. Played by Sal Conca, this will be his debut on screen. He is the executive producer of the film and best known to Heckler Kane Creations as the business guy.
The fun part of this project is we are fans of the genre. We grew up on vampire horror comedies like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Once Bitten, Fright Night, The Lost Boys and other classics. We want to make something we'd enjoy watching while delivering a message of acceptance in a brutal world of reality.

Heckler Kane Creations was founded on the premise of storytelling. The journey over the past couple of years has been creative, fulfilling and a lot of hard work. We've cut our teeth making music videos, commercials, short films and more. Most importantly we believe in supporting other passionate and creative people and businesses.
Last year we created the Imperfect Podcast that features weekly interviews with other indie film makers, actors and creative talent. The podcast has been an amazing experience and allowed us to make relationships with dozens of talented people, press access to film festivals and a growing fan base.

Joe Kane: Writer, Actor, Producer & Editor
Joe is a natural born musician, who began playing instruments while he was still in the single digits of his life. He has performed in countless bands as a guitar, piano, bass, and drum player. Some of his idols include Eric Clapton, Quentin Tarantino, Tim Burton, and Dan Aykroyd.
Joe earned his Bachelors degree in Music Education and a Masters in Music Composition. He has spent the last twelve years directing theater. As one of the original partners of Heckler Kane, Joe has immersed himself in the company. Spending endless hours, Joe is busy perfecting the work the company produces. A jack-of-all-trades, Joe has taken on many roles in the company. His most prominent roles are that of a writer, producer and editor. Joe is also a co-host for the The Imperfect Podcast.
Known among the partners as a creative personality, Joe’s whimsical visions push the limits of the work they are able to create. Joe has proven himself to be a forward thinker by creating new story lines and concepts that are entertaining and unique. Joe is constantly pushing boundaries and exciting his partners to complete projects essential for the companies growth.
Wayne Heckler: Actor & Director
Wayne has had a life long interest in the arts, with his love for film originating from his attraction to words and their affects on society. At a young age, Wayne found himself immersed in poetry and admiring the work of musicians like Jim Morrison of The Doors. The meaningful words artists use to express themselves are what attract him to specific types of music. This is why he also admires the French writer Gustave Flaubert, who believed every piece included in art should have a purpose. Wayne lives and creates by these ideals, which is why he is such a calculated artist. He is certainly an “out-of-the-box” thinker. His eccentric visions help create projects that are authentic and unlike anything else being created.
Wayne has degrees in music and he has been involved in directing theater for over a decade. He is a musician who can play many instruments, however he has really focused on becoming a classically trained pianist. Some of Wayne’s most significant work have been his acting and directing even though he has worn many hats as a partner in the company. In addition Wayne has a larger than life personality, whose positive attitude and comedy breathes life into the company.
Dan Kane: Writer & Producer
As a former college athlete, Dan understands the importance of discipline and hard work. His time off of the basketball court was spent focusing on American Studies, giving him insight into real life events and how they have shaped the world we live. Dan brings realistic perspectives to the company’s projects. Dan also has a background in music as a drummer. As Joe’s younger brother, Dan has been an integral part of Heckler Kane from the very beginning. Acting as a confident for his older brother to bring forth his creative visions.
By 2013, Dan took a much more active role in the company during the production of the short film “Bad Luck Charley”. Since then, Dan has become a significant part of the team with his creative writing skills. On set Dan handles many responsibilities, including sound, acting, and co hosting the weekly podcast. Dan admires individuals such as Martin Scorsese, Robert DeNiro, Al Pacino, and Frances Ford Coppola.
Dan’s partners describe him as the quiet intellect of the group, with impeccable comedic timing. Although he may be quite, he is constantly analyzing situations. Bringing thought out and concise visions to the table, Dan’s opinions are highly regarded.
Sal Conca: Marketing, Producer & Cinematographer
As a long time friend and band mate of Joe, Sal is the newest addition to Heckler Kane Creations. Sal is a classically trained saxophonist and a taught himself guitar. With a bachelor’s degree in music business and an MBA in marketing. Known as the “businessman” of the group, Sal brings new insight to the group. He is affectionately The team relies on his ability to organize and control the chaos that comes during the planning of projects.
Sal is a fan of movies from the 80’s and 90’s bands such as Pearl Jam. He took the reigns as producer and show runner for the Imperfect Podcast. The podcast is an opportunity to show case talented individuals and build relationships. In addition to producing podcasts, Sal has been an active force behind Heckler Kane’s social media campaigns. Somehow Sal still manages to contribute his talents to film projects by running sound and getting behind the camera more and more.
