First is a romantic comedy that focuses on those awkward moments right before a couple has their first sexual interaction with each other. In an effort to impress his date, the ruggedly handsome hero feels insecure because the heroine is overwhelmed and confused by his over-the-top antics.
Mission StatementTelling a story about sex with a woman's touch is rare, which is why we are committed to having a majority female crew. Casting a voluptuous actress as the love interest where a Black couple has an awkward, humorous, trauma-free love story furthers our commitment of inclusion.
About The Project
During this crisis, some industries are still in full swing while others have limited their workload but EVERY film production has been halted due to the quarantine.
We can't shoot our film without endangering ourselves and others. What we can do right now is complete preproduction.
Launching our campaign enables us to safely raise money as well as conduct business online while staying at home. In preproduction, we will invest campaign funds into props, virtually conduct casting calls and hire actors, interview and select team members as well as search for potential locations.
We understand that for some, funds are limited, while others may be furloughed or out of work, yet we humbly ask for your financial support. Every dollar you generously contribute to our campaign will go to employing a film industry professional.
In our world, when we aren't working, we are unemployed, so being able to have a paid gig after the quarantine is over is an honor.
We don't know how the virus will affect our industry but with your help, we can at least guarantee that local cast and crew will have paid work on this film to take care of their families.
FIRST is a romantic comedy about the awkward moments a couple experiences right before they have their first sexual encounter with each other. When we have sex, we want it to be hot, sexy and fulfilling. What sometimes happens is, it's clumsy, embarassing and messy.
In our film, Vaughn, a ruggedly handsome yet insecure man, desperately wants to impress his crush, Callie, as he woos her right before their first sexual encounter. As a result, he is all-thumbs, fumbling his way through their over-the-top date in this awkward, laugh-out-loud, romantic comedy.
In sex and romance, there's a FIRST time for everything.
Women being in front of and behind the camera adds a unique flare to this project. FIRST is a film that will have a woman's touch in every stage of the production: preproduction, production and post-production.
While we love the creative aspect of film, there is a business element we must handle. We are currently raising money for pre-production and production. We will invest the money we raise into hiring the best talent in front of and behind-the-camera as well as purchasing props, food, location and incidentals.
