Mission Statement

STANS has all non-white characters (except for one) and the series is being directed, produced and written with the help of non-white queer people. The increase in the diversity and inclusion of stories on screen is because of the diversity behind the screen. Always.

The Story

*all promotional pictures are from Season 1 of STANS*

The STANS Team decided to create an informational series called, Sunny Says. The series helps break down the language and cultural environment of STAN Culture. Our first episode breaks down the term STAN and the usage of the word in STAN culture. Who knows, maybe after watching this video you'll realize you're a STAN too.

STANS centers around stan culture and how that impacts a person’s world. Set in modern day, we will see how Pop Music Stans navigate the internet and interactions with others. As the characters develop a stronger bond with each other their worlds collide faster than they expect.

We're aiming to get funding for Season Two of the Webseries, which will focus on our character, Jake. We'll follow Jake as he goes from a passive nobody to a confident stan. Standing up against Sunny and Tiyon, his girlfriend and "pen pal", even his High School Bully. All he needs is a little courage, and maybe some Selena Gomez playing in the background.

It was my first year living in Los Angeles and I was itching to write! Amongst the culture shock and homesickness, I was experiencing extreme writer's block. So, I forced myself to write a script. I showed my work to a fellow friend and he said to me,

“It’s good but it’s not you but being a STAN is."

This is how STANS was made. I wrote up the first season, filmed and released it by April 2018. Many people enjoyed the series and related to it but they wanted better production, character development, a nice set design and...I don’t blame them! Heck, I wanted that too. I racked my brain thinking, how I can give out a great second season but also not experience bankruptcy while trying.

Everything I thought of was not an ideal way to fund the series. Until a nice fan of STANS told me to crowdfund. A grand and scary idea, but I decided, why not? Let’s do this! So many people are in love with the series, let's give them the series they deserve! I want to bring out a great season and make sure it’s done well. So we can do another season of STANS but this time well-produced, with some character development and incorporate the Screenlife film format.

Our series will incorporate editing and storytelling styles in the modern day age of the Internet. The series gives a look at human connection and media consumption in present day. Set mostly through digital screens, each action and reaction will be taken into account for the telling of the story. Here's a video of Screenlife & another video of Face 2 Face to show you the vision we have for STANS Season 2.

Our series will be not as menacing than Timur Bekmambetov's works (UnFRIENDED, Searching, CAM, etc).

We have cool editing plans for each episode of Season 2 that will show our audience what our characters are doing online and what that says about them. The series will cross with concepts from The Guild (Internet Friends turned Real Friends), Gilmore Girls (Banter) & Face 2 Face (Screenlife Film Format).

This is an exciting new wave of storytelling and we’d love to have you be a part of making this series a reality!

Gio is a recurring character of the series.

Kia is a recurring character of the series.

Howie is a recurring character of the series.

We couldn’t have gotten this far without the help and passion of others. Our cast and crew have all joined in on the STANS team and now we’d love to have you a part of our team too. In today’s age, people are attracted to things through exposure, PR and well-produced products. We want to provide all of that and more to you, the audience. We are asking for your support not just to fulfill our passion but to put out a series that’s worthy of representing STANS. We simply can’t bring STANS to you, in great quality without your help.

So please, look into your heart, and help bring a series that will show the world what STANS really are about.

Thank you very much AGAIN and we look forward to creating and sharing this project with you all!
