Mission Statement
The Story
When a beast appears in his world, a young boy, dependent on the tree that has taken care of him his whole life, must choose between staying with the tree, or learning to live on his own.
This movie is created by a group of hard working, passionate storytellers. We are all students at College of DuPage. We are working together to create this wonderful film as a part of our last class. For many of us this is it, this is all we get before we are thrown out into the crazy exciting world of filmmaking. We hope to create a story we can all be proud of and have a lot of fun while doing it. We hope we can further develop not only our bonds with each other but with our supporters.

Meet our Director: Jon
Hello. I am the writer/director for the short film The Boy Who Lived In A Tree. My goal in life is to meet Quentin Tarantino and not have to introduce myself. If I were stuck on an island and could only bring 3 things, I’d bring Tarantino, Kevin Smith, Donald Glover, and a camera and we’d make a movie together. Yes, I know that’s 4, but playing by the rules is something I’ve never done…when it comes to math.
Another goal of mine is to lose at the Oscars…to myself. Yes, I want to be nominated twice in the same category in the same year. My acceptance speech would start with “I just want to thank all the other nominees: (Tarantino), (Kevin Smith), myself. It’s so hard to lose sometimes.”
Anyway, I’m writing and directing The Boy Who Lived In A Tree. I’m really excited to be surrounded by a group of people that can make me look like I know what I’m doing. I can’t wait to bring this story to life.
Meet our Producer:
My name is Darbi, and I've been editing for a total of 8 years. I've been a PA/AC/Assistant Editor for a short called, "Stop and Smell the Roses", PA/Extra for the student film, "What it's Worth" and a Mixer/Extra for a short called, "On What Side." Editing and Script Supervision for films is something I'd like to pursue in the film industry and make a career out of. I also just love helping out in any way I can with any projects others are working on. I love the film community immensely and I'm super pumped to help produce The Boy Who Live In A Tree! The story is extremely well written, and I know will be amazing.

Hello guys my name is Nereo Carvajal, and I am the Director of Photography for The Boy Who Lived in a Tree.
I'm super happy to be part of this production, Being behind the camera is my passion. When ever I'm behind a camera, it inspires me to think that the camera itself is not more important than what is in front of it. I love to think of creative ways to visually tell a story. The making of this film will be a huge experience for me and the rest of the crew. I believe we have a great team that will make this a wonderful film.
Meet our Production Designer:
Hellooo! My names Michelle. I'm not very good at this whole bio thing but I took a "What Character from Toy Story are you?" quiz the other day and it told me I was Mr. Potato Head and the description fit me pretty well. It said - OK, so you're a grump. But you're the most lovable grump there is. You can be hilariously sarcastic and a little crabby at times...and you also have a sweet and romantic side.
I suppose I should also mention something about film in here so I'll say that my ideal day is watching films and tv shows all day surrounded by puppies, tea, and chocolate chip cookies.
Film, Photography, and Digital Design are the things I am the most passionate about, and because of that I am going to try my best to help make this wonderful story come to life!

My name is Erni. I am super excited to be the 1st Assistant Director in the making of The Boy Who Lived in a Tree. I am an exchange student from Indonesia and being involved in this production is kind of a hilarious experience for me. I’ve been a director for several TV shows and short documentaries. Hopefully, my experience will be a benefit to help the production of The Boy Who Lived in a Tree. I believe it will be an incredible movie!! I love the story.

My name is Joey! I’m excited to be working on The Boy Who Lived in a Tree as the 2nd assistant director. When I’m not playing video games or taking photos, I’m making short films and having a blast.
