The Politicians is an unscripted series featuring a couple of politicos interviewing candidates and voters. The series lead lost in a local election, took a page from the Russians’ playbook, and began using social media to impact elections via a personal campaign she calls "Infiltrate + Influence."

About The Project
THE POLITICIANS is a reality-based series that brings you closer to the candidates, minus the spin-wrapped sanitized version that we see at forums and in advertisements. We're going behind-the-scenes, hitting the streets, and opening closed doors to find out more about politicians...who they are and why they run. Locally, we've been showing up at events via our ALMOST LIVE FROM THE FAKE RED CARPET tour. We've interviewed politicians in a variety of settings and for different elected offices, from local school board to state supreme court candidates. But now, it's time to level up!!
Now, more than ever, we've reached a crossroads on being able to determine what's real and what's fake. We're constantly reading what other people write about politicians, forgetting that there is often more to the story, and frequently that's the story that doesn't get told. So we're giving politicians a platform, another space to be share what's real. And besides...politics is the mechanism by which we allocate rights and resources. If you don't like the policies. Then change the policymakers.
I grew up in a politically active family in the South. My father served six terms on the city council and my mom, well she's a county commissioner running for re-election. Last year, I ran for city council, made it through the primary but lost "supposedly" in the general election. I say "supposedly" because now I infiltrate and influence. I call that a win. Oh, and I won in the Kids Voting general election. I currently serve on the Democratic National Committee.
We've done this sort of thing in a couple of ways.
The key was getting across the board support...mayors included.
And we're always on the lookout for trending political disrupters.
I’m originally from New York City. I went to college in North Carolina, but I’ve bounced around all different parts of the country. I’m a full-time teacher and also a basketball coach. I have a youth empowerment group that I started in 2005, and it has just completely exploded. What I’m looking to do is change the dynamic. Last year, I ran for city council. No, I didn't win, but I didn't lose either. Truth be told...I'm just getting started.
Of course we show up at the party with all the politicians.
And we're also out and about on the street.
Again and again...
