When You're Alone
You have it now. It's in you. The black tar, the searing pain. Stay with the others. Stay as long as you can. Don't become one of them.
Inclusion StatementIt spreads awareness of mental health and encourages people to reach out to those that suffer from it in isolation. As someone that's been hospitalized and who's dealt with suicidal ideation, depression, anxiety and OCD, I can tell you how important it is to have supportive people around.
About The Project
Is that a birthmark?
It wasn’t there before, was it? Maybe it was.
You ignore it, continue about your day. Do your work. Come home.
It’s bigger now. It itches.
You scratch it and the skin breaks…
After experiencing disturbing, violent visions involving someone identical to them, six people in a small town are struck with an affliction that makes their flesh slowly transform.
The signs are always the same. A rash, red eyes, extreme paranoia and trembling anxiety. Can they stop it from spreading? Can they even save themselves?
You’d go to the doctor but you can’t afford it, so you cover it up.
Wrap it in gauze.
Maybe it’ll go away on its own.
Now your eyes start to itch.
Your vision blurs.
Are people acting differently around you?
They are. And that person looks familiar.
Wait. More than just familiar.
They look exactly like you.
