Hey, I'm Brit!

Brooklyn, New York

Brit Fryer is a Midwest born indie filmmaker and producer based in Brooklyn, NY. His films include trans·ience, L A C E R A T E, and all over.  He recently completed a broadcast length documentary about the impact of policing on Twin Cites' Black youth called We May Be Cold.

His work explores the intersections of the coming of age genre, blackness, queerness, and trans selfhood in the context of larger narratives.

His short  trans·ience led him to be selected as one of the Sundance Institute's Ignite Fellows in 2016, where he received the institute's support and year long mentorship on upcoming projects. In addition, he was awarded the University of Minnesota's CURA Artist Neighborhood Partnership Initiative grant in 2016. He is also a member of the 4A's Multicultural Advertising Intern Program and a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow.

He is a current MFA Candidate at Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema. He is a graduate of Carleton College's Cinema and Media Studies Program.
