Hey, I'm Foster!

Los Angeles, California

Foster Wilson is a filmmaker, director and 2017 Emergence Recipient. She earned her Bachelor
of Fine Arts from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and studied for 3 years with the Atlantic Theater Company under the tutelage of David Mamet, Mary McCann, Maggie Kiley, Scott Zigler, Chris Bauer, and Geoffrey Nauffts.

In 2015, Foster co-founded Detroit Street Films, an independent film production company intent on building a robust community of filmmakers to collaborate on micro-budget films. In its inaugural year, the company produced over a dozen shorts, including Foster’s directorial debut: a gritty film about possessions and priorities titled BRICK & MOPSIE.

Her sophomore short, WAFFLES, premiered at the Inside Out LGBT Film Festival in Toronto and went on to appear at festivals in New York, North Carolina, Nevada, New Mexico and Hong Kong. In 2018, WAFFLES will screen at the Oxford Film Festival in Mississippi, the Worldwide Women's Film Festival in Arizona, and the Mardi Gras Film Festival in Sydney, Australia.
