Hey, I'm Gary!

Los Angeles, California

Award-winning Actor and Writer, Gary's recent performance in "Moment of Anger" garnered him with Best Actor in a Drama.

Gary Klavans is currently in post on his latest project "Reason".  A film that explores the question; "Is life a series of accidents?"

Having won awards for the short noir film, “Diamond Confidential”  and the avant-garde film "Just Three Words", "Reason" marks Gary's 3rd collaboration with Director Graeme Finlayson.

Gary is also in development on the short film "Peanuts" A story that looks at how the smallest efforts can change a person's life and the Feature film "Damaged" A story that sees a glimmer of hope trying to break through the darkness of despair.

We will be seeking funding for this film. Investors may inquire now.

STORY

We meet Coop, a man on the brink of suicide.  His journey of self-destruction brings us to the lower depths of the city, the home of the homeless, the lost and the desperate.  A place where perversions are the norm, a serial killer preys on prostitutes and underground parties echo in the night.  It is the home of Cookie’s diner, a mid-night haven for the damaged souls that awaken while the rest of the city sleeps.

Our plan is to generate enough interest and capital to produce the full-length feature.  We intend to follow in the footsteps and success of films like “Sling Blade”, “Bottle Rocket” and “Whiplash”

Gary is graduate of Emerson College in Boston, MA.,  majoring in film, television, creative writing and theatre.  He moved to Los Angeles where he wrote and produced his first collection of scenes entitled "Crossroads: Bar & Grill" based on his local college bar, in Boston.  The show was produced a number of times over the years and many of the scenes are still used in acting classes today.  The success of the show lead to the creation of his first TV pilot "Hope & Crosby".  Gary eventually branched out to film.  He co-wrote and starred in the independent feature “Crispy, Cracker’s  & Beans”.   The film was screened at the SXSW Film Festival and the X-Ground On Screen Film Festival in Frankfurt, Germany.

Gary’s other writing credits include The Syndicated television series “Rosarito Weekend” and the critically acclaimed stage play, “Happy Christmas Merry Chanukah”.
