Hey, I'm Paige!

Los Angeles, California

When my great-great-grandfather arrived in New York City after escaping the pogroms in
Russia, he plopped a wad of cash on the counter at Grand Central Station and asked for a ticket
for as far as that money would get him. It got him to St. Louis, Missouri, which is where I was
born and raised. This same sense of adventure my Zayde’s* father had is hereditary. I aspire to
be as fearless as he was with the knowledge that if nothing else, risk makes a great story.
In high school, I was a contestant on the Jeopardy! Teen Tournament the last season Alex
Trebek had a mustache. That following summer, when I was 17, was one of the most formative
times in my life. I spent it in Los Angeles. While here, I talked my way onto the Universal Studios
lot and fell in love with the film industry.
Now, I have a B.A. in Critical Studies from the University of Southern California's School of
Cinematic Arts and a J.D. from Northwestern University’s School of Law. While in law school, I
discovered I cared more about the stories I was outlining in the margins of my Powerpoint
handouts than about the cases I was supposed to be learning. I realized storytelling was more
than an interest, it was a true passion.**

I wasn’t going to ignore that passion, so I bent the ear of a sympathetic academic advisor. He
helped me find a way to move to back to L.A. and complete my degree remotely while also
preparing for a career in the film industry. I simultaneously held an internship at a production
company on the Disney lot and wrote a dissertation on The Hollywood Code of 1934.

For six years, I worked as an Acquisitions and Development Executive at an
international film sales agency and production company. While there, I learned the ins and outs
of independent film production and financing and have become an expert on film festivals and
the international market. As business increased, my time for creative pursuits diminished. As
much as I love development work, I came Los Angeles to tell my own stories. A corporate
restructuring at the company I worked for seemed like a sign that I should take the leap into
writing, producing, and directing. I’m starting with INTERROBANG, a concept close to my heart
about a topic that’s both fun and funny.

So that’s me. I’m a nice Jewish girl from the Midwest who likes to bake oatmeal raisin cookies
and walk around art galleries and who’s created a sex comedy anthology series. And in all
honesty, INTERROBANG will probably horrify my mother, my father, and my Grandma Phyllis
once it’s released. That’s a risk I’m willing to take because, like I learned from my ancestors, if
nothing else, risk makes a great story.

*Zayde is Yiddish for grandfather, but it’s what I called my great-grandfather growing up.
**Some people backpack through Europe to find themselves; I went to law school.
