Hey, I'm Paul!

New York, New York

Hi there! My name is Paul Taylor and I am a filmmaker based out of NYC. I started my career as a cinematographer, shooting a handful of shorts and features, which taught me the importance of telling stories through images as opposed to words. All of that experience led up to Driftwood, my directorial feature debut, which premiered at the 2016 Slamdance Film Festival where it was awarded the Grand Jury Prize for narrative feature. Driftwood is a feature devoid of any dialogue. Instead, the entire film is told through image and sound alone, which (I think!) makes for a pretty unqiue cinema-going experience. Check it out and tell me your thoughts!

Some of my influences: Chantal Akerman, Kelly Reichardt, Claire Denis, Luis Bunuel, Yorgos Lanthimos, Bruno Dumont.
