Hey, I'm Pomonok!

Los Angeles, California

Welcome to Year Two of Pomonok Entertainment.

Pomonok Entertainment is a production company that seeks to create quality, inclusive narrative content while being of service to those experiencing homelessness in Los Angeles.

We also hope to create a replicatable blueprint for how to do this, and help others in the entertainment industry do it, too.

Here's our slate for 2019:

Homeward L.A. (theater performance): April 2019.

Still a Thread (narrative short film): PRE-PRODUCTION.

Finding Felicity (podcast): CURRENTLY IN S1. Available on iTunes, Stitcher, and Spotify. S2 coming Fall 2019.

Leather & Love (podcast): 9 EPISODES available on iTunes, Stitcher, Soundcloud, and Spotify.

The Waystation (a filmed sci-fi transmedia story): ONGOING. Check out Pt. 1 HERE

Here are planned projects in the pipeline:

Geek Girl Traveler (a female-led, pop culture-focused travel docuseries)

Rio Piedras (comic)

Pomonok Magazine (a digital publication centering marginalized voices)

The Pomonok Podcast (also centering the voices of marginalized creators)

The Mission:
Since she was a teenager, Teresa Jusino wanted to create a company through which she could tell and create inclusive stories while also helping people in need. Pomonok Entertainment is the realization of that dream.

At this stage, our goal is to incorporate the mission of alleviating and ending homelessness into each of our projects through methods including, but not limited to: encouraging an ethos of social activism among members of Team Pomonok; organizing group volunteering at partner homeless advocacy organizations; incorporating line items into our budgets for donations to these organizations; donating surplus craft services to food pantries and shelters; and donating a portion of any profits we make to existing organizations that have expertise and experience in working with the homeless community.

Long-term goals include hiring from and housing qualified, talented individuals from the homeless community in all areas of company operations, as well as co-producing projects with other, established companies, allowing them to become a part the fight to end homelessness.

Yes. This is a for-profit endeavor. It's just that our company mission is to use those profits to help others, not just ourselves. We're those silly people who believe that it's possible to make money and still be kind and socially responsible; to have that feeling of responsibility for our fellow human beings baked into a company's DNA.

The Dreamer:

Writer/Producer/Director, Teresa Jusino, is a native New Yorker and a proud bisexual, Puerto Rican, Jewish woman on her way to winning Intersectionality Bingo.

In 2018, Jusino launched Pomonok Entertainment, a production banner that incorporates a mission of working toward alleviating homelessness in L.A. into the larger mission of telling engaging, thought-provoking, inclusive stories. Since then, Pomonok has produced or co-produced theater (incl. several productions of Homeward L.A), podcasts (like Finding Felicity), and filmed content (like the LGBTQ-themed Giving Up the Moon).

Jusino made her directorial debut on Pomonok’s 2018 production of HLA and is currently in pre-production on her first short film, Still a Thread.

She lives and writes in Los Angeles with her wife, production sound mixer, Ada Douglass.
