Hey, I'm Ramón!

El Paso, Texas

Ramón Villa-Hernández is an El Paso based multi-talented film artist/musician/lecturer. 

 

In 2010, Mr. Villa was part of the creative team for El Paso feature film, The Sentimental Engine Slayer (2010), that had its World Premiere at the International Film Festival in Rotterdam. It played numerous festivals around the world and had its U.S Premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City. 


In 2011, he worked on a short film, Reservado (2011) shot in El Paso, TX that had its World Premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in France. During this time he also served as the executive producer/bass player for the self-titled Lp Frontera Bugalu (2011) released by Frontera Bugalu. 


In 2012, he was part of the creative team for Los Chidos (2012), a feature film shot in Guadalajara, Jal., MX. This film had its World Premiere at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival in Austin, TX. The film was selected to be part of the Narrative Competition category. 


In 2014, Mr. Villa started producing/directing short documentary films for El Paso based web-series, Only in El Paso. This web series is a joint venture between KCOS - El Paso’s PBS station and PBS Digital Studios. 


For the past 2 years, Mr. Villa has been teaching various aspects of media production at the University of Texas at El Paso.
