Hey, I'm Shant!

Shant Joshi is a queer Indo-Canadian film producer based out of Los Angeles & Toronto.

 

Previously, Shant was Associate Producer / Unit Production Manager on Porcupine Lake (TIFF, Busan, Rome, Cheries-Cheris), a fem-queer coming-of-age film set in Northern Ontario with acclaimed “Indie Queen” Ingrid Veninger. Shant also line produced two features for New Queer Cinema filmmaker, John Greyson, both breaking the boundaries of how narrative cinema is defined.

 

Shant has produced over fifteen short films, which have gone on to screen all over the world in Melbourne, Beijing, Florence, Los Angeles, New York, and Toronto.

 

Shant also co-founded a film festival called the Future of Film Showcase, catered towards fostering the future of cinema through the education of young filmmakers and the presentation of their work.

In the world of new media, Shant produced a queer web series for Dekkoo called I’m Fine, produced a short film for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation’s digital platform, and production managed the second season of hit-drama web series Teenagers.

 

Most recently, Shant was working in film literary representation and packaging at Buchwald.
