Thomas Rivera Montes is a New York City-based filmmaker, producer, and freelance editor. Born and raised in Lausanne (Switzerland), he graduated in May 2015 from Brooklyn College (New York), with a bachelor’s degree in Film Production. The same year, he directs Act Zero, a coming-of-age story about a boy, who tries to share his feelings with his classmate. The film won the award for Best Directing at the 33rd Brooklyn College Film Festival and was screened at the New York National Film Archives. In 2016 he directs Dare and Truth with a small budget of $3000. The film is an official selection at the Palm Springs Shortfest 2017, Outfest LA 2017 as well as the Newfest 2017. Thomas Rivera Montes is now in the process of developing Dare and Truth into a feature film.
Thomas Rivera Montes also works as a freelance editor. His work includesThe Gospel According to Andre, official seleciton at TIFF 2017 and distributed in 2018 by Magnolia Pictures, Bronx Gothic (2017) and Sand Dunes (2017).
