Celtic are riding the crest of a wave after coming through a difficult patch and they will be fully confident in their ability to secure a result against Rosenborg in Trondheim.
The Glasgow side have put together a six-match unbeaten run, a streak which includes a 2-1 win over Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, and they have returned to the summit of the Scottish Premiership as well.
Rodgers' men also have a Scottish League Cup final against Aberdeen to look forward to this weekend and the Northern Irish coach is eager for his players to maintain their momentum.
“Every away fixture is big, but you could say that we want to take something from this game before going into our last game in the group, which is at home. For us, we want to get the victory," the Bhoys boss told the Celtic View.
“I feel that will be important for us coming into our last game against Salzburg. We’ll give everything we can to win the game. The team coming on to these games are riding high on performance, confidence, goals and defensive solidity."
Celtic’s Europa League hopes were revived thanks to Odsonne Edouard’s dramatic winning goal in the 2-1 victory over RB Leipzig at Parkhead last time out.
Brendan Rodgers’ side occupy third position in Group B with two games to play after winning two and losing two of their opening four fixtures.
In what looks like a shootout between Celtic and RB Leipzig for the second qualification spot, Rodgers will be hoping it is a case of better the devil you know against Rosenborg.
The Norwegians, who have been a familiar foe for Celtic in recent years, are rock bottom of the group after losing four games from four – conceding 12 goals in the process.
In the reverse tie, Leigh Griffith headed in with three minutes to spare, handing Celtic a 2-1 victory and their first European group stage home win in 11 games.
It was the Bhoy’s second win over Rosenborg this season, having beaten them in the Champions League qualification stage.
And with RB Leipzig travelling to table-toppers Red Bull Salzburg for their Matchday 5 tie, a victory for Celtic would put them in prime position to qualify for the knockout stages with the Austrian league champions.
