After their father passes away two baby boomer sisters from Oklahoma chase a bakery dream to Homer, Alaska, in a leap of faith that will change their lives. Their mother joins them, making the bakery a family affair. For the business to succeed, the sisters, Jackie and Kathy, will have to learn to work together as two strong-headed women in one bakery, care for their mother, and win over the locals in a new and alien environment that’s chilly in more ways than one.
BAKING ALASKA is set in breathtaking Homer, Alaska, the ‘Halibut Fishing Capital of the World’. It is a heart-warming 30-minute documentary about taking risks, reinventing oneself, and second chances with family.
