Terrance Fisher, age 19, lives in the Louis Armstrong housing project in Bedford-Stuyvesant Brooklyn. Eight of his friends have been shot and killed in the war zone around his home.
The most recent death occurred January 24, 2004. Terrance and his best friend Timothy Stansbury were met with gunfire on the rooftop of Terrance's building. A bullet struck Timothy's heart and sent Timothy and Terrence tumbling down the stairs in a spray of blood.
Timothy died. Terrance had lost another friend. The shooter was a policeman. Police Commissioner Ray Kelly said the killing was "unjustified" but no indictment was issued.
As fate would have it Terrence was producing a documentary about gun violence when the killing occurred. This tape contains frightening images that could only be captured by someone like Terrence who has lived his entire life in the projects.
This program was directed and edited by New York City teenagers.
