THE CRUMBLES is a slacker movie about a talented band that’s stuck in their garage. It’s loosely based on my real-life experience of playing in a garage band, and the ego battles, minor successes, unfulfilled dreams, and life lessons that went along with it.
I was initially inspired to write THE CRUMBLES when one of my former band mates was having a tough time in his life with drugs. I wanted to make a film that reminded him of the good times we shared in a band, and why we started playing music in the first place. That’s why I wanted to keep the film as light hearted as possible.
Completed on a tiny budget, THE CRUMBLES is ultimately a fun collaboration between creative friends who put their hearts into the work because they believed in the project, and had a good time doing it. My hope is that audiences will appreciate the personal quality of the film. It’s a film about friends, made by friends, for our friends.
