‘Everything looks so familiar, but sometimes I still don’t know where I am’
Jerry is a Taiwanese driver for a local Chinese Takeaway in Edinburgh, whose solitary shift begins just when most of us are going home. Through Jerry we glimpse a mysterious world, beyond the takeaway counter, where nameless kitchen staff silently cook food that Jerry delivers to faceless customers, alone in the car with his just his thoughts and dreams for company. A beautifully shot and meditative film about the loneliness a ‘foreigner’ feels in a crowded city.
