Director's statement

FROM DIRECTOR ROBIN WRIGHT: I've always loved movies where tough dames challenge what we think women should be like. Bette Davis, Joan Crawford, Ava Gardner, Barbara Stanwyck... they all gave as good as they got. That's what I thought when I read the script for "The Dark of Night". Here's a woman with the face of an angel and the soul of cold blooded killer. And why not? The thirties weren't romantic, they were as bloodthirsty as hell. Men. Women. It didn't matter. People waited in breadlines for hours. They were desperate. Our heroine took control of her own life and made no apologies for it. Let's just say, Bonnie Parker had nothing on this girl.

Reviews

The Dark of Night is a film that relies on the unexpected and in this respect it works rather well as a short, with more twists in ten minutes than most films have in their entire running time.
