A rural romance that centers around the story of a lonely old man, his ideal companion and one raisin.

Director's statement
This film looks at the effects that loneliness can have on a person when finally met with the opportunity for companionship. I wanted to make a film that explored the peculiarities of old age, and the unchangeable habits people acquired. I'm fascinated by odd characters who say strange things and behave in unique ways, completely in their own world and immune to social norms. The man in The Raisin personifies this for me, and his idiosyncrasies are magnified by his isolation. I wanted The Raisin to be timeless and have a mythical feel to it, with a difficult to place location and a lack of character names. It's a bizarre tragicomedy where form and content are completely at odds with each other.
Reviews
A visually stunning film telling a story that will raise an eyebrow, a smile, and maybe even a tear.
