El Sereno Film Festival
June 14 - October 14, 2020
The 2nd El Sereno Film Festival is first and foremost about caring for our community. We’ve moved our festival online this year because we are committed to ensuring the health and safety of the public while also supporting our friends, filmmakers and storytellers who look to us as a platform to showcase their work to audiences. We are making every effort to continue to bring together audiences and foster emerging artists while ensuring the long term sustainability of our festival and the independent film ecosystem it supports.
presented by
About a Donkey -
When Tim brings home a donkey in a mixture of wanting to rescue both it and himself, his life and the lives of his family (including three adult children and one matriarch) are shaken up and pushed forward.
Farah Goes Bang -
Farah, a young Muslim American, is on the road with the 2004 Kerry campaign... trying to lose her virginty.
Shorts Block: Life(times) -
Stories are born in our everyday experiences. They are the building blocks of our perspectives, our dreams, and the epics we can imagine. Now more than ever, focusing on the impactful and seemingly insignificant moments in our lives feels deeply important. It is from these moments alone that we can clearly find meaning. These shorts were selected for their honest look at life, time, and what it means to be part of the human experience.
Red -
While shooting a short film in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, an intense magnetism draws actresses Mel and Liz together, as they find themselves bringing their fictional love affair to life off-screen.
